I get the error "Runtime Error 48, Lost File TyrannUltra...".
- Your Operating System is missing some important files that are required for the Windows Media Format. Download the following and install:
I get MSDXM Error 339...".
- Delete the quartz.dll and mswebdvd.dll file from the program folder (ie. C:\Program Files\WinCDG Pro 2\)
I get the error "A required component is missing...".
- You do not have all the required runtimes. Please install the complete release.
I get the error "Your version of MCI32.OCX is out of date...".
- See above. Download the complete release first before installing any updated version.
I get the error "Cannot create the IMediaControl object...".
- MediaPlayer is not installed correctly. Reinstall it.
I get the error "Error xxx, Problem Playing file!".
- The file may be corrupt or in a format that is unsupported. IE: Certain MP3 files
have non-standard data at the beginning or end of the file. You may need to remove
the data using an MP3 tag editor or utility.
I get the error "MCI driver is NOT installed."
- The CD audio driver is not installed. You need install it via "Add/Remove software" in the Control Panel.
I get the error "MMSYSTEM xxx..."
- The sound channel in already in use.
Close the program that is using the audio (ie: another player program).
Double-clicking a KMF file or other file loads another player instead of WinCDG.
- Some associations have been reassigned or never set. Go to the prefs screen, select
the extensions and click the SET button. Re-boot windows.
The lyrics display too slowly, or not in sync with the audio.
- Close other programs that may be running.
- Virus scanners can cause problems.
- Make sure your system meets the minimum processor and speed requirements.
- Some cards work better in either 24 or 32-bit mode.
- Try changing to 256-color mode.
- Try limiting the Karaoke Window to 1x or 2x, not full-screen.
- Some 3D "gaming" cards are slow when dealing with 2D. Get a card that does fast 2D blitting.
The audio stutters, breaks up, or pauses.
- Other programs may be accessing the hard drive (like a virus scanner).
- Close non-essential programs and/or remove them from your startup (See Windows Help).
- Make sure your system meets the minimum processor and speed requirements.
The program does not play my CD+G discs. All I get is audio with no lyrics/graphics.
- WinCDG only plays CD+G using MP3+G files created with third-party utilities.
WinCDG-Pro 1 can rip direct from CD+G to KMF files but does not PLAY the CD+G disc directly.
To play CD+G discs directly you need WinCDG-Pro2 or CD+G Disc Player.
I cannot play CDA files.
- You must be in "CD Mode" to play CD audio tracks. CDA files will not work when added to the playlist.
I cannot play Real Audio or Video Files.
- These files are only supported when you have installed MS MediaPlayer 6.0. Most other
versions do not handle "Real" format files.
I cannot play Quicktime files.
- The file may use a compression method from the Mac that is not available on the PC.
- The file may be for a newer version of Quicktime that is not supported with the version
of MS MediaPlayer that you have installed. Try upgrading your MediaPlayer to the latest
version (7.0 at the time of this writing).
I cannot play certain multimedia files.
- See above. Those files may be supported with newer versions of MS MediaPlayer.
The skin does not display correctly (ie: purple areas around the outside).
- Some versions of Windows do not handle skins with transparent areas.
- Try updating your windows (a new service pack) or use a different skin.
The skin doen't look right... the colors are weird.
- The skin may be designed for 24-bit screens. Your screen may only be set to
display 256 colors. Change your display settings or check if there is a
256 color version of the skin.
I see "action canceled" when I click on the TriceraSoft logo.
- You are not connected to the internet. To go to the homepage first connect
to the internet, or set your system to connect automatically as needed
(Control Panel, Internet options, connections tab).
I prefer to use Netscape to browse the web...
- Go to the WinCDG preferences and select the "Use default external browser" option.
Make sure Netscape (or whatever you choose) is registered as your default browser in Windows
(see Help for your browser).
The Karaoke window fills the screen and I can't get to the main program window.
- The Karaoke Window is set to "Always on Top". Double-click with the mouse to toggle the
window from full-screen to its previous size. You can also right-click with the mouse
and choose CLOSE, or 1x etc from the menu for more control of the Karaoke Window.
When the lyrics are full-screen a bit of the Windows taskbar is visible. How do I make it go away?
- Your Windows titlebar is set to "Always on Top", or to "Auto Hide". Go to the taskbar properties
(right-click the titlebar) and un-check either of those options.
- You can also select the "Always on Top" option of the Lyrics window.
How do I show the lyrics full screen and still work with the program?
- All our software supports keyboard control. Simply make the display window full-screen then use the
appropriate keys to control the program. Tracks can be started by typing their track numbers.
- You can purchase a second video card and monitor. Please view the Display Options
information page for detailed configurations.
When I extract a song in CDG Ripper the song ends up the wrong size, what could that be?
- If CDG RipperTM is not registered it will only create the songs 60 seconds in length.
- If you created a Registered KMF and you using it on a program not registered with your information.
- If you have configured your bitrate too low (i.e. lower than 128 Bitrate) you will get unknown results.
- The Song on the CD actually contains more or less content unseen or marked wrong on the table of contents.
